The VESTA is a high performance stereo Firewire to/from AES/EBU converter. It is used in conjunction with a sound file playback device such as a PC or MAC and a D/A Converter with an AES/EBU or S/PDIF input.
In high-end audio circles there is a trend towards high resolution file downloads from dedicated websites. Such downloads need a playback chain which is adequate for the high quality of the downloaded files. An ordinary “soundcard” won’t cut it.
With the VESTA it is now possible to hook up your favourite D/A Converter to the computer. Besides the mere task of interfacing, the VESTA also takes care of possible jitter issues. This makes the computer a playback device rivalling the quality of a CD transport.
The VESTA accepts digital audio in Firewire or AES/EBU formats at rates of up to 192kHz at a 24 Bit wordlength.

Power Supply: A non-switching power supply is used. The mains voltage can be set to 100..120V or 200..240V.
Frontpanel controls: One power switch, three input selector switches with corresponding LEDs.
